Day-Of Information

Schedule of Events

8am - 4pm Check-in @ Kaplan Hall A-level
9am - 5pm Classes @ Kaplan Hall A-level
12pm - 1pm Lunch @ Dickson Court South

Drop-Off

Student drop-off will be at the UCLA Flagpole, shown in the map below. Check-in starts at 8am inside Kaplan Hall on the A level. Classes will be held in Kaplan Hall. There will be signs and staff to guide you. This will also be the pick-up location unless you and your guardian arrange otherwise.

See here for more information on how to get to UCLA, including public transportation methods. Here is an interactive map of UCLA campus.

If a school bus is dropping students off, the bus drop-off location is at Dickson Court South BruinBus Stop, located on the southbound side of Charles E Young Drive E. The bus stop is not marked on Google Maps, but is visible in Street View. No bus parking is available.

Parking

Parking is available at Parking Structure 2, shown below. We unfortunately cannot provide free parking for private vehicles. There are pay stations that accept cash or credit within the parking structure, but if you use cash, they DO NOT give change. You must pay BEFORE leaving your vehicle. The parking rate is $3 (1 hour) to $14 (all day). More information can be found on the UCLA Transportation website.

Check-In and Waiver Reminder

The check-in tables will be inside Kaplan Hall on the A level, which is downstairs from the floor you enter from. Please enter from the entrance facing the Flagpole and Haines Hall and head towards the end of the hallway before taking the stairs down. See the above map for reference. You will probably see it, but there will be signs to guide you there as well. Check-in starts at 8am. Try to be there sooner than later to avoid traffic and long waits! If you arrive after 11am, check-in will be at our Headquarters in Kaplan A66 (downstairs in Kaplan Hall).

Don’t forget to sign and submit the liability waiver (required) and the multimedia release form here! The liability waiver needs to be signed for you to participate in Splash. You don’t have to sign the multimedia release form if you don’t want us to take pictures of you (for archival and promotional purposes). Once we check that you have submitted these forms, we will give you your name tag and your class schedule with classroom locations during check-in.

Enrollment and Class Changes

If a class you really want is filled up, or your class gets cancelled, or you simply want to take another class, you can modify your class schedule anytime. You can either go to your student webapp (which will become available after check-in) or come to the Headquarters (Kaplan A66) to pick another class.

If you have a gap in your schedule or are taking a break from classes, we have some walk-in activities for you, too!

Lunch

Lunch will take place at noon at Dickson Court South. We will be providing free pizza with a vegetarian option. If you require additional accommodations, such as vegan or gluten-free, please bring your own lunch. Also consider bringing a towel for sitting on the grass. Alternatively, you are also free to purchase food from the Ackerman Union Store, provided you bring your own money to do so and return to class on time. We will also have some snacks to provide throughout the day, but do consider bringing more food if you think you'll be hungry!

Parents Program

Feel free to explore UCLA's campus and Westwood while the students are in classes! Check out the Botanical Garden, Sculpture Garden, Fowler Museum, or Hammer Museum. If you have any questions about UCLA or the college application process, feel free to chat with the admin team!

COVID-19 Safety Protocols (updated)
  • Masking is recommended (but no longer required) indoors for individuals who are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines.*
  • While indoor masking is required for individuals who are not up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines, they may remove their mask to eat or drink provided they are physically distanced from others when doing so.
  • Masking is recommended (but no longer required) outdoors regardless of vaccination status.
  • If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please exercise caution and refrain from coming.
Up to date on COVID-19 vaccines means boosted, or Fully Vaccinated but not yet COVID-19 booster-eligible. Fully vaccinated means it has been 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (e.g. Pfizer or Moderna vaccines) or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine (e.g. Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine).
